What we hold, and what we will never do with it
Written in plain words, because a privacy notice nobody can read is not really a notice. If anything here is unclear, ask us and we will explain it properly.

Who we are
The Label Board is software for fashion businesses, operated from Lagos, Nigeria. We are the data controller for the details you give us through this website, and the data processor for the records your business keeps inside the app. That distinction matters, and it is explained below.
If you visit this website
Reading these pages requires nothing from you. We do not run advertising trackers, we do not build a profile of you, and we do not sell anything about your visit.
You give us information only when you choose to fill in a form. Those forms ask for what we need to answer you and nothing more:
- Booking a walkthrough. Your name, business name, email, phone, city, rough team size, how you keep records today and anything you tell us in the message box.
- Applying to be a partner. Your name, business, email, phone, what you do, roughly how many businesses you reach and how you would introduce us.
- Referring a business. Your details and the details of the business you are referring. We ask you to confirm you have told them first, because it is their information you are handing over.
- Contacting us. Your name, email, optional phone and your message.
Our host also keeps ordinary technical logs, such as which pages were requested and roughly where from, which is how any website is kept working and defended from abuse.
If you use the app
Inside The Label Board, your business's records belong to your business. Customer names, measurements, orders, prices, staff details, wages and books are yours. We hold them so the app can work for you, and we do not use them for anything else.
Specifically, we do not read your books for our own purposes, we do not sell your customer list, we do not use your data to train anything, and we do not share it with other businesses. Every business's records are separated at the database level, so one business cannot reach another's.
When you work offline, your records are held on your own device until they can sync. If you sign in with a username rather than an email address, the app stays entirely on your device and nothing is sent to us at all.
Why we hold it
- To answer you, when you have asked us to get in touch.
- To run your account, including billing, support and keeping your data safe.
- To pay partners correctly, which means recording which business came through which link.
- To keep the service working, including logs, backups and fraud prevention.
- To meet legal and tax obligations, where the law requires records to be kept.
Where it is kept
On your devices, and on secure servers operated by the providers above, which may be located outside Nigeria. Where information leaves the country, we rely on providers that offer recognised safeguards for it. Data in transit is encrypted, and access on our side is limited to the people who need it to do their work.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that go nowhere, up to twelve months, then deleted.
- Customer records, for as long as you have an account, and for a short wind down period afterwards so you can still export.
- Billing records, for as long as tax law requires them to be kept.
- Partner records, for as long as commission may still be payable, plus the same tax retention.
You can ask us to delete sooner, and we will do it unless the law says we must keep something.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act and similar laws elsewhere, you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, stop using it for a particular purpose, or hand it to you in a portable file. There is no charge and no form to fill in. Write to us and we will act within thirty days.
If you are a customer, you do not need to ask us for your business's data at all. It exports from inside the app whenever you want it.
Cookies
This website sets no advertising or tracking cookies. It stores one small thing in your browser, which is whether you chose the light or the dark version of these pages, and that never leaves your device.
The app itself stores your session and your business's data on your device, which is what allows it to keep working when the network does not.
Children
This is business software and it is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under eighteen. Apprentice records kept by a business are that business's responsibility, and the business must handle them lawfully.
Changes
If we change how any of this works, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change genuinely affects you, such as adding a new provider that handles your data, we will tell customers directly rather than leaving it here to be discovered.
How to ask us anything
Email hello@thelabelboard.com, or message us on WhatsApp. A person will answer, and if you are asking us to delete something we will confirm when it is done.
